Acer pseudoplatanus, the Sycamore tree, is a broadleaf tree with attractive five-lobed, green leaves. The stalks of the leaves are red on younger trees. Those with a keen eye may spot the small recemes of yellow-green flowers in spring, but it is the iconic winged fruits that most people appreciate.
Requiring a good sized garden, this grand tree will reach around 10 x 6 metres in height and spread over 20 years. It is an exceptionally hardy tree that can cope with coastal wind exposure, poor soil and full sun to partial shade.
